INTENTION
3 weeks exploring creativity through earth skills, crafts, playing dress up, imagination, and gathering in community, we begin to move beyond the blocks to our pleasure and joy:
remembering that these are the very things that nourish us for these strange time.
They are what allow us to meet these times inspired, strong, and fully in our bodies.
Our joy, our creativity, our togetherness, our love—
this is the revolution!
WEEK 1- MYTHICAL GARDEN TEA PARTY
A proper welcoming home party.
Come dressed in your fullest whimsy.
Expect an opening circle with laughter, music, dance, poetry, tea, and space to play.
We’ll also begin to name and loosen the beliefs that have kept us small,
and open into a collective permission to be seen, expressed, and fully alive in this journey of blooming into Spring and then move into...
WEEK 1 Part 2- The secrets of INDIGO: PRAYER FLAGS & SCARF crafting
We enter the magic of deep blue.
Working with indigo, an ancient dye of both science and mystery, you’ll learn to build a fructose vat, prepare your fabrics, and explore Japanese resist dyeing (shibori).
Through this process, we’ll create 6 cotton prayer flags and a silk scarf, cloth to carry intention, story, and beauty.
Each woman will leave adorned in her own indigo, and have prayer flags with her intentions for the world, dyed slowly and shaped by her hands.
WEEK 2- reed basket weaving: melon baskets
Is there anything more whimsy than weaving a basket, sharing stories, tea, and depth with other women? Learn to weave your very own melon basket step by step in this grounding day of making, deep sharing, and lighthearted magic!
If you have taken my other basket weaving workshops, this is a different style and shape of basket as seen above!
week 3 -Eco-printing and bundle dye magic!
Working with the flowers, leaves, and textures of the world around us, we’ll explore the art of eco-printing and bundle dyeing!
You’ll learn how to create botanical prints on cloth, working with a variety of plants, mordants, and techniques to bring color and pattern to life.
Each woman will create a long silk scarf and a bundle-dyed handkerchief, pieces infused with the beauty of the natural world.
WEEK 3, part 2- Whimsy as Revolution
A creative showcase of dance, song, poetry, and self-expression
After our eco printing day, we will have a final gathering is a space to be seen.
We begin by honoring that our joy, creativity, and pleasure are powerful, and that witnessing one another strengthens and inspires us.
Each woman will have the opportunity to share a piece she has prepared: song, dance, poetry, or any form of creative expression.
A closing celebration of whimsy, where you are invited to take up space, be witnessed, and share what is alive in you!
Over these 3 weeks, you’ll receive:
